16km hike at Allenc in Lozere
An old village emerging from knolls of la Margeride at the bottom of which runs a clear stream and which sometimes looks alike a torrent. A favourite domain for the trouts. If the antique castle of Aliene has completely disapeared, the church still stands up. The roman edifice is mentioned in a Papal bull of 1123. The apse and the north and south chapels, which are open in their centers, are of same forms and dimensions, which gives the whole structure a clover form. The nave of three rows has a barrel vault "plein ceintre". The "clocher-peigne", which has six bays on the occidental frontage, seems to have been erected around the XVIIth century.
